I recently wrote about my plans of studying theology at university after being laid off from my job. Some things has led to a change of plans. I laughed to myself when I read it because, as Homer Simpson so eloquently puts it, ‘it’s funny ‘cause it’s true’. One of the most common writing tips is to give yourself small rewards for reaching goals. For example, having a piece of candy every 100 words. The thing with writing tips, though, is that they rarely work for everybody. I’ve tried this and it didn’t work for me at all. Today I went with members of my family to pick chanterelles in the forest. We only found a few but what we did find plenty of was animal bones. The area is one heavily frequented by hunters, so this wasn’t much of a surprise. It’s been way too long since I was in nature. ProbablyFortsätt läsa ”Bugs and bones”
Yesterday I spent most of the day in the only place I ever really feel at peace: the forest. I went there on that particular day to pray for blessing in a new writing project but it also gave me some time and much needed peace and quiet to reflect on where to go nextFortsätt läsa ”New horizons”
I just had a great week-end visiting my family I hadn’t seen in a while. Also got to see the cats and meet the new one: Now awaits a uncertain week. I got laid off my job last Wednesday and I’m awaiting a phone call from the company I worked for before to see ifFortsätt läsa ”Blessed”
Somebody is keeping me company while I lie in bed and do some writing before going to sleep.
