Book fair haul!

My favourite yearly event has finally arrived: the Gothenburg Book Fair! This is the largest literary event in Scandinavia and the second largest book fair in Europe. I never miss it (in non-pandemic times) and this year was no exception. To await buying more books than I can afford, I have imposed on myself theFortsätt läsa ”Book fair haul!”

Here’s a little fun fact: there are along the main avenue of the Swedish city of Gothenburg several representations of Hellenic Deities. But most famous is of course the fountain of Poseidon:

This week, the city feels like ours too (almost)

The city feels more colourful and brighter and gayer than usual. There are LGBTQ+ workshops, lectures, plays and fun family activities happening everywhere in town. It feels like Gothenburg belongs to us queers too this week. But I also see people scoff and complain about the rainbow flags. A new writing spot

The Swedish summer is painfully short and rainier that in a lot of other places. So, every chance I get to enjoy the sunshine while it last, I take. That’s why I love to sit in the forest, by the sea or in public parks and write under the sun. I thought I knew allFortsätt läsa ”A new writing spot”

Wanna see something cool?

In the Stampen neighbourhood of Gothenburg, there is a square called Odinsplatsen (Odin’s place). It connects several streets, among them Odinsgatan (Odin’s street), Friggagatan and Baldersgatan. You can see a theme here. On the roundabout in the middle of Odinsplatsen, you can find some interesting things, like a large fountain and a fastfood joint withFortsätt läsa ”Wanna see something cool?”

Spring is here

I’m well enough to take shorter walks around town and with the weather being as sunny and beautiful as it was today, I just had to take the tram to one of my favourite spots on the city: The Garden Society of Gothenburg. Gothenburg is imo one of the most beautiful cities in Sweden. IFortsätt läsa ”Spring is here”

Finally found some cup marks

In a museum. Still was interesting to see them in real life. They can be seen at the Museum of Gothenburg, where there is also an impressive Viking Age exhibit: If you ever find yourself in this beautiful city, I can highly recommend making a visit to the Museum of Gothenburg.
