Pride is coming this month to the German capital and the Ibn Rushd-Goethe Mosque is the first in the country to fly the rainbow flag. https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2022/07/04/mosque-pride-flag-lgbtq-germany-berlin/ Queer people of all faiths need safe places to worship and pray, so this is great news 🙏

This week, the city feels like ours too (almost)

The city feels more colourful and brighter and gayer than usual. There are LGBTQ+ workshops, lectures, plays and fun family activities happening everywhere in town. It feels like Gothenburg belongs to us queers too this week. But I also see people scoff and complain about the rainbow flags. And I and many people like meFortsätt läsa ”This week, the city feels like ours too (almost)”

This Pride Month, remember those who fought for your rights

It’s finally Pride Month! For those of us lucky enough to live in a place where we are allowed to openly be ourselves, this mean we’ll get to party, parade and celebrate. And that’s awesome. But we cannot forget all the millions of people worldwide who are still living under violent cishet oppression. So, soFortsätt läsa ”This Pride Month, remember those who fought for your rights”

Since we’re on the topic of weaving…

I came across this and was reminded how we are all co-weavers of She Who Weaves Existence: May She bless us all with good thread. The book is ‘The Monk Within: Embracing a Sacred Way of Life’ by Beverly Lanzetta.

What is the core of Heathenry?

The other day, I had someone visit at my apartment. While there, they noticed my altar and the statue of Freya on it. They asked:”Who’s that?”I said that She is Freya, one of the Goddesses of the Heathen faith. They asked if I was a Heathen and I said yes. What the religious authorities fear

Recently I’ve been reading this book, Spirit Marriage: Intimate Relationships with Otherworldly Beings by Dr. Megan Rose and it’s a fascinating read so far (I’m about halfway through). Almost all literature I’d come across on the topic before was written from a negative perspective and I’m just so thrilled that there is a book outFortsätt läsa ”What the religious authorities fear”

Knowing Freya. Part 5: Lovers

The lore tells us Freya loves Her Husband greatly and searches for Him far and wide whenever He disappears again. It also tells us stories about Her having lovers and a number of sexual escapades. Some would say the two are inherently contradictory but who are we to tell Deities They can’t have an openFortsätt läsa ”Knowing Freya. Part 5: Lovers”

I am obsessed: ‘Brunhild’ by Saltatio Mortis

Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Pagan and Pagan themed metal. Old and newer favourites like Amon Amarth, Brothers of Metal and Eluveitie have dominated my playlist. I also just recently discovered the German medieval metal band Saltation Mortis. They have so many awesome songs, many which have Germanic Pagan themes. Of them,Fortsätt läsa ”I am obsessed: ‘Brunhild’ by Saltatio Mortis”
